Full course description

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing provides thorough coverage of GD&T practices, as established by the ASME Y14.5–2009 standard. From understanding symbols on existing drawings to calculating the tolerances for proper size and location of features, topics are introduced in a methodical manner to establish an understanding of basic concepts before building to more advanced applications.

Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:
1. The student will demonstrate an understanding of terms, modifiers, and symbols used in geometric tolerancing.
2. The student will demonstrate an understanding of the concepts involved in defining the form of a part surface.
3. The student will demonstrate and understanding of the datum system.
4. The student will demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental concepts of tolerance of position.
5. The student will demonstrate an understanding of the concentricity and symmetry controls.
6. The student will demonstrate an understanding of the concepts involved with the run-out controls.
7. The student will demonstrate an understanding of the concepts involved with using profile tolerancing.
