Full course description

Student must begin the online portion on 01/04/20 and complete it before the in-person, lab portion scheduled for 01/18/20, 9:00am-1:00pm. The skill session will be held at the Dale Mabry Campus of HCC in the Allied Health Building Room DALH 229.

Who Should Attend?

This 30-hour program meets the Florida State Board of Nursing’s IV therapy requirements for LPN’s or RN’s and is designed to provide a basic knowledge of IV therapy practice. 

All interested healthcare providers are allowed to enroll to learn the practice of IV insertion as described by Florida state law.  Participants receive documentation indicating successful completion of the course.  RN’s are encouraged to participate as a refresher. 

Description

This is a hybrid course that requires guided independent study for the theory portion of the course as well as hands-on lab sessions with an instructor for the peripheral IV insertion and Central Venous access care portions. Students must complete the online portion over two weeks and then meet for the hands-on lab.  On the date of the lab, students will also complete their final exam.  Upon receipt of payment for this course indicates the official start of the class, thus NO REFUNDS are available.
