Who should attend?  Anyone over the age of 18 with high school diploma or GED.

Upon successful completion of this 80+ hour program, you will be prepared to challenge the state examination to become a Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and begin to immediately work as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Patient Care Attendant. The Board of Nursing CNA application fee and license examination is included in the program. CLICK HERE for information about this exam. This course provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform basic care services for a patient (acute care setting) or resident (long-term care setting) or an individual in a home health setting. It prepares the student to function in the role of nursing assistant under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).  The course includes 84 hours of lecture and skills training with the option to attend 40 hours of clinical experience in a hospital or nursing home ($200 separate fee).  Completers of the CNA program will be able to challenge the Florida CNA licensing exam and immediately work as a Patient Care Attendant and/or Home Health Aide (HHA) in any Medicare approved center. The following is included in your registration fee:

·         BLS Certification valid for 2 years

·         Prometric Florida CNA Application Fee with Background Screening Included

Please note, this course no longer offers a clinical experience component.  Students interested in clinical must register for the $200 clinical experience course separately after successfully completing the CNA program.
